Abstract Aim Intra Gastric Balloons (IGB) have been used over the last three decades as a minimally invasive, non-surgical weight-loss option. The ElipseTM gastric balloon (EIGB) is ‘procedure-less’ which can be placed in an average of 20 minutes without need endoscopy or sedation. aim our study to investigate first cohort patients uk who underwent IGB capsule and short term follow up. Method Single centre retrospective consecutive 202 that had Eclipse inserted between May 2018 November 2020. Patients swallow pre-inflation x-ray taken confirm correct positioning after inflated with 550mls sterile water post-inflation taken. designed in-situ for 4 months then automatically deflates. Results Out 24 were lost follow-up, 146 followed up 15 weeks, while 26 weeks. Average weight loss at weeks was 6% Total Weight Loss (%TWL) 9.63% TWL. Majority experienced post procedural reflux, abdominal pain, bloating vomiting. 6 early removal due severe symptoms (4), pancreatitis (1) hyperinflation (1). 1 expulsion 2 months. Conclusions safe effective selective patients, however long-term needed compare it other balloons terms significant sustained loss.
